tl;dr
This sprint focused on supporting the new USDC tokens issued by Circle recently which will be important to customers and users that rely on stablecoins for payments. Circle plans on dropping support for USDC.e tokens in the fullness of time, so we wanted to be ahead of the curve.
Additionally, we decided that it was a good time to provide greater flexibility to users that would like to leverage other wallet providers in combination with our payment platform. Contrary to popular belief, wallets aren't a zero sum game.
Lastly, we introduced some minor usability enhancements and continued to make great progress towards getting our SDK completed for games that leverage Unreal Engine versions 4 and 5.
New features
🔢 The time estimation in checkout is now represented in minutes and seconds instead of numbers and decimals. This should be less confusing for users when waiting for a transaction to complete.
💸 SphereOne now supports the latest USDC tokens issued by Circle across all supported chains on the platform. Users can use USDC in payments that leverage both bridges and swaps today.
💯 We decided to give wallets its own tab in mobile and web versions of SphereOne. Previously, this was buried in the user settings. While we'd like to abstract away blockchain complexity as much as possible, we made this change due to overwhelming user demand.
🤌 When users create a SphereOne account, we provide four self-custody multichain wallets spanning 15 blockchains. Based on your feedback, we've enhanced the app's new wallets section with badges indicating the supported blockchain networks for each wallet. This improvement aims to help users easily identify the associated blockchain networks for their wallet addresses in SphereOne.
☕️ Made improvements to our cacheing strategy for user wallet balances. Users will enjoy a more responsive user interface when looking at or refreshing the balances of their favorite cryptocurrencies in SphereOne.
🕵️ Completed social login flow for the SphereOne SDK supporting Unreal Engine 4 and 5.
🌝 SphereOne now supports external wallets as a destination for digital goods and service purchased with our payment platform. Whether you're using MetaMask or Halliday, a user can leverage their favorite wallet provider to purchase things with SphereOne in a seamless fashion.
